- ACCA/ACA and/or CTA qualified
- Strong VAT / Indirect Tax Advisory experience in financial services.
- Good understanding of Tax Technology and data management.
- Experience working in either Big 4, Top Tier Accountancy or Financial Institutions organisations
- Accuracy, time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Initiative and good people skills with ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues in all parts of the Group and with HM Revenue and Customs.

Group Tax is a key function within the Finance community of LBG, having responsibility for managing the Group’s tax affairs. The Group has a wide range of tax payments, deductions, and reporting obligations both for its own account but also for its colleagues and customers. Group Tax manages these obligations on behalf of the Group, ensuring the tax consequences of all transactions are understood and that the Group is in full compliance with its statutory obligations.
What you’ll do:
▪ Provide informative, high quality sophisticated output, advice and mentorship tailored to senior stakeholder needs, operating as a Tax specialist.
▪ Handle relationships with important internal customers and act as their business partner, while taking mentorship from their senior peer group.
▪ Identifies shortcomings, suggests improvements and implements approved revisions to current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or subject area.
▪ Analyses key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identifies possible impacts on the business.
▪ Writes and edits materials for a variety of target populations, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience.
▪ Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and provides specialised training or mentor in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.
▪ Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements, to deliver a plan for a small element of an organisational change programme with mentorship of a project/programme manager.
▪ Develops procedures and interprets and applies policy for a specific area of the business to achieve specified outputs, or provides advice to the wider business on application of policy, then monitors implementation of those procedures within the organisation.
▪ Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established programme management plan.
▪ Delivers prescribed outcomes for a designated area, using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
▪ Develops and/or delivers insightful observations for significant aspects of the tax systems with mentorship from senior colleagues.
▪ Develops and designs content for training courses in specific functional areas to fill gaps in established programs; runs sophisticated and/or customised training courses to improve employee performance within specific functional area.
