- Build the strategic plan for the multi-million-dollar peer-to-peer fundraising events within the Athletics Initiatives portfolio.
- Develop and implement a corporate-facing strategy and a value proposition that differentiates LLS’s Athletics offerings that resonates with high-impact decision-makers, encouraging them to become sponsors and building corporate teams.
- Build best practices within endurance-based charity fundraising programs by creating business standards and turn-key resources that drive key performance indicators through year-round multi-focal fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship plans.
- Examine internal and external competitive landscape and regularly seek innovative opportunities to ensure the LLS brand is recognized as best-in-class for fundraising acumen.
- Regularly assess fundraising strategies aligned to events, adjusting as needed to reach beyond revenue goals.
- Oversee LLS’s fundraising initiatives related to Adventure, Cycling, and Run/Walk to achieve revenue targets.
- Determine areas of potential breakout growth and leverage business partners across the organization to maximize opportunities.
- Expand the Athletics offerings by identifying new revenue models and build the expansion plan for new event offerings with the Athletics event lineup.
- Partner with LLS’s Business Development team to identify corporate sponsorship offerings that align with the LLS Mission and core events.
- Work with all LLS revenue leaders to create a constituent journey that enables, develops, cultivates and stewards deep philanthropic partnerships across the LLS brand.
- Identify revenue expansion opportunities and to grow volunteer and corporate relationships throughout LLS.
- Lead with relentless enthusiasm, confidence, strategic thinking, and practical case studies that persuade teams to deploy and implement fundraising strategies.
- Coach, model, and train the Athletics team on fundraising best practices and strategies within the endurance-based peer-to-peer fundraising programs, including:
- Building corporate pipelines, selling sponsorships, and recruiting corporate teams to events.
- Identify the most promising new sales opportunities by uncovering emerging business and market issues identifying potential customer organizations and their influential decision-makers interested in improving business results.
- Implementing best practices in achieving KPIs.
- Ensure overall revenue and P&L for assigned fundraising initiatives are achieved while inspiring the Athletics team to reach beyond revenue goals.
- Create and evaluate project revenue stream KPIs.
- Develop revenue models that support three to five years of sustained growth.
- Partner with Education Services and Health Research department to effectively communicate the LLS overall mission, programs, resources, and priorities.
- Responsible for ensuring all initiatives deliver mission-centered, high-impact activities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred in Business or Non-Profit Management.
- 10+ years’ relatable experience.
- Experience leading endurance based P2P charity programs preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of success in similar P2P fundraising campaign.
- Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
- Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
- Travel up to 60%.
- Required to work some evenings or weekends.
- Average salary range is $170k-$200k, open to further discussion based on geography

Overview
The VP Campaign Development Athletic Initiatives will oversee LLS’s national high-impact peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives related to Adventure, Cycling, and Run/Walk to achieve revenue targets. The VP will lead a full cycle deployment of Athletic Initiatives, including strategic development, high-impact fundraising, and event execution. The VP will lead a combined team of SMEs and staff to execute the Athletic Initiative Vision.
