- Set the overarching global IDG communications strategy across IDG’s multiple regions and distributed workforces
- Partnering with change management, provides change communications expertise on large global initiatives such as business transformations, systems implementations, mergers and acquisitions.
- Develop communications plans for new initiatives, policies, and programs.
- Establish and implement sound processes, policies, procedures, and standards for an effective Internal Communications program.
- Oversee editorial and strategy for IDG’s global intranet which will be undergoing a significant refresh in 2024.
- Ownership of global internal communications and employee engagement budget
- Foster the culture of engagement, connection and relationships through establishing strategic internal communications frameworks and overseeing the development and implementation of tools to spark new ideas, insights and collaboration.
- Reimagine communication touchpoints through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility to all communications initiatives.
- Produce relevant and compelling content for various internal communications channels, including events, emails, newsletters, intranet, town halls, office hours, etc.
- Ensure messaging is consistent, transparent, and reinforces the company’s values
- Provide the CEO and Executive Leadership Team with executive communications expertise, ensuring corporate messaging is shared through the organization
- Act as a valued consultant to business leaders in developing and operationalizing effective communication plans that resonate with relevant stakeholders.
- Enable people managers to be better communicators by providing tools to help them communicate with their teams
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborators
- Implement mechanisms for gathering employee feedback on communication effectiveness
- Use data and analytics to assess the impact of internal communication initiatives and make data-driven improvements
- Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred; in English, Communications, Writing or relevant field
- A minimum of 10-12 years experience leading communications functions for global, largely distributed organizations
- Proven track record in a senior communications role, ideally in the technology industry.
- A passion for writing and ability to craft messages using the voice of your executive stakeholders
- Creative thinking, strong experience communicating and creating communication programs that leverage written, audio, and visual mediums and channels
- Strong organizational skills; skilled at determining and managing requests and timelines necessary to get work done.
- Ablility to synthesize multiple, complex business situations and ideas
- Proven experience in developing a strategic communications approach that resonates with stakeholders and is easily understood by employees of all levels
- Experience working in a global context, understanding cultural nuances in communication.
- This position can be located in our Needham MA headquarters in a hybrid work schedule or in an approved remote US location.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $190,000 and $220,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
