      Vice President Learning & Development

      ACCOUNTABILITY: As the leader of Enterprise Learning and Development within the Human Resources Organization, this position is responsible for developing the strategy behind enterprise-wide learning and development programs and practices to build a culture of learning throughout the enterprise, operating within a multi-state credit union model. This role ranges in responsibility from strategic planning to tactical execution including: analyzing organizational needs, creating alignment with business strategy, day-to-day operations, execution, and budget / vendor management, as well as team leadership. Additionally, this role will provide thought leadership, make decisions, and implement policies, in partnership with leadership, that affect all businesses and functions. This position will have a high level of accountability to the HR Leadership team and have an enterprise impact. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Talent Management, under minimal supervision or direction, and frequently interact with other internal (e.g., Line of Business/Functional leaders, HR Business Partners, Branch Services Leaders etc.) and external personnel (e.g., external auditors, regulators) along with VyStar Senior Leadership. Urgent requests may arise regardless of time of day or day of the week and this role will be expected to offer support as needed.

      ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Manage the activities involved in the strategic design, preparation, and delivery of innovative enterprise learning programs that help employees develop the capabilities they need to be successful in the future.
      • Interact and partner with the HR Leadership team, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning and Leaders in the various lines of business/functions, business leaders, and support partners to assess the learning and development needs of the organization, both current and future, and to ensure practices enable VyStar’s business priorities.
      • Ensure the HR Leadership team is aware of all learning programs, annual calendar of events, and proactively communicate that status of all learning activities and changes.
      • Drive execution, evaluation, and enhancement of aligned programs (mentoring, manager development, early talent, and workforce development) and policies on an ongoing basis.
      • Manage and deliver enterprise annual required and recommended training in partnership with Compliance.
      • Develop learning materials for our HR annual processes such as performance management and talent planning as well as materials to onboard new HR teammates and to develop HR capabilities.
      • Identify, select, onboard, and manage vendor partners, including online learning, to execute on strategy.
      • Establish and measure learning program effectiveness.
      • Proactively engage with outside learning and development professionals to keep current on trends and interesting developments in the field; experiment with new ideas.
      • Lead multiple processes or bodies of work for the enterprise, collaborating with key stakeholders from across the company.
      • Ensure the Learning Management System supports VyStar’s long-term needs
      • Lead a team of learning professionals with responsibility for hiring, training, and ongoing development related to instructional design, program/project management, consulting, and facilitation.
      • Solve problems ranging from routine to higher complexity with broad view of stakeholder needs.
      • Ensure the manner that employee’s are taught is optimum, including classrooms (or rooms designated for learning), Virtual learning, and Online Learning. Needs assessments should be done annually to ensure the learning experience and outcomes are optimal. This includes working with Facilities to ensure adequate learning space exists.
      • Drive continuous improvement and ensure any changes are within VyStar’s Values and Information Protection Practices.

      • Counsel: Recommend solutions based on your client’s or member’s needs and objectives.

      Skills, Experience, Abilities:

      • 10+ years of experience in Learning, Training, Leadership Development, and/or Organizational Development Prior experience designing leadership development programs and identifying programs to addressing talent gaps.
      • 8+ years of progressive management experience to include people, project and process leadership.
      • Master’s degree in Training and Development, Human Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Adult Learning/Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology preferred or equivalent related work experience.
      • Ability to lead organization-wide initiatives, including the ability to bring diverse groups of individuals at varying levels of an organization together to work towards a common goal.
      • Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to articulate a clear, compelling vision, use data to inform decisions, and translate strategy to plan to action in a proactive manner.
      • Ability to drive and provide oversight of enterprise learning solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning techniques and ability to measure training effectiveness.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to distill and communicate complex ideas across the organization on behalf of the business unit or function. And the ability to keep senior leaders proactively informed regarding the status of all Learning and Development initiatives, programs and systems.
      • Excellent facilitation and content delivery skills that you can develop in team members and organizational partners.

      • Excellent facilitation and content delivery skills that you can develop in team members and organizational partners.
      • Strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation, with the ability to adapt to an ever changing organization and change direction when required.
      • Experience with Learning Management Systems and related platforms.
      • Ability to leverage technical expertise and collaborative relationships across the organization to contribute to strategy and drive direction both within and outside of areas of expertise.
      • Technical knowledge, project management, change management, and ability to influence others.
      • Demonstrates strong influence at an operational and/or functional level.

      • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
