Job Description

As Comoto’s Visual Deployment Manager (VDM), you will oversee the execution of company-sponsored physical changes across our expansive retail network of over 170+ stores spanning three distinct brands. From coordinating with district and store managers to working closely with our visual design and product development teams, you'll ensure that every Comoto store looks amazing and that every Comoto store team has the right on-hand inventory and guidance to execute the brand vision flawlessly.

You’ll know this is the right fit for you if your professional toolbox includes project management, vendor management, inventory management, retail leadership, budget management, and cross-team collaboration. You'll need to be adaptable, easily handle change, challenge current processes while defining new ones, and inspire others to follow your lead. To succeed in this position, you'll need a proven track record of putting these skills into action and getting results from your team, vendor partners, and field teams. This is not a purely administrative role, you’ll be hands-on and in the field working alongside our store teams to ensure that they are set up to be champions of our vision. Because of the many moving parts in this position, you’ll be expected to travel 50% of the year.

Our Visual Deployment Manager Will:

• Champion Comoto’s Visual Merchandising Standards. You will complete company-sponsored merchandising tasks including complex interactive display setup, AV support, signage implementation, and installation of product security devices. Not only will you learn how to complete our merchandising and store display functionality, but you will also take your knowledge and provide support to store teams ensuring that they can meet these same standards.
• Own fixture inventory both vendor-managed and on-hand. You’ll oversee lead and shipping times, managing project inventory allocation of vendor-provided displays. Similarly, you will coordinate allocation and shipment of inventory based on break-fix store needs. Coordination will include delegating support and inspecting inbound/outbound fixtures for retail and distribution center projects.

• Manage projects through to completion. You will provide detailed updates and reports to all involved partners and provide quality feedback to iterate on existing processes; you’ll do this by being in the field and working alongside store teams to identify areas of improvement. Administrative aspects of project management include creating travel itineraries for yourself while monitoring team travel by following accounting and operating procedures; you will also work with our VP of Real Estate to manage the fixture budget of on-hand and future needs.

• Lead the charge and train our crew. You will train new team members through job shadowing and sharing of best practices while also managing and coaching the performance of a single part-time team member.

Qualifications

Our Visual Deployment Manager Will Have:

• A Passion For Retail Leadership: You’ll have a background in retail operations, and you’ll understand the impact that defined visual merchandising processes have on the customer experience and more broadly, the business as a whole. Our ideal VDM will have at least 3 years of experience in retail leadership with the ability to lead and motivate teams to success.

• Project Management Skills: Experience managing complex projects with competing deadlines from start to finish.

• Strong Communication Skills: You will interface with team members at all levels of the organization across various departments within Comoto including creative, product development, senior retail leadership, and more. You will also manage external vendor relationships; you will need to have experience building working relationships with general contractors and vendor groups to move the work forward to meet deadlines.

• The Ability To Travel: This is not a traditional behind-the-scenes role. You will be on the front line working alongside our store teams throughout the year and we anticipate up to 50% travel.
