- Educated to GCSE level, with grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Volunteer or HR management qualification, or equivalent level of experience
- Collaborative approach, inspiring, engaging and enabling colleagues to achieve results
- A kind compassionate approach, able to deal sensitively with all across the hospice.
- A positive, professional and solution-focused approach all aspects of work and development
- Motivated and adaptable with strong time-management skills, able to work on own initiative and calm under pressure
- High standard of diplomacy, integrity and reliability
- Very occasional evening and weekend working (of which time back will be given)
- A balance and ability to win hearts and minds
- Experience of recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers
- Experience of planning and implementing training programmes
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in volunteering
- Knowledge of the challenges facing volunteering
- Experience of leading and developing a team with the ability to motivate, inspire and champion volunteers
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Confident and articulate communicator
- Confident presentation skills
- Volunteer/HR system experience
- Strong numerical skills,
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous experience working/volunteering in a charity,
- Experience of scoping and implementing new electronic management systems (e.g. databases)
- Full driving licence and access to car
- Excellent project management skills with experience of managing complex projects

We are looking for an individual that has a passion for people, can win hearts and minds

Someone who can lead our volunteering team and support our organisation to continue our excellent volunteer involvement work.
About us
You'll join our small and ambitious team working to support and develop volunteering across all areas of the hospice. With approx. 1,000 individuals giving their time, volunteers are a vital part of St Catherine's.
