      Are you looking to use your transport supervisory or warehouse management experience in a new role? Are you happy to get stuck in to the end-to-end of our transport function? Do you like the idea of working on a high-profile contract, with one of the leading names in the logistics industry?

      Here at GXO, we’re looking for a full-time, permanent Transport/Warehouse First Line Manager to join us at our busy BT operation in Chelmsford. Working hours would be Monday-Friday, 9pm-5am

      This role is a hands-on managerial role, which is leading a small operations team over the nights shift.

      Pay, benefits and more:

      We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £32,000 per annum + 33%night shift allowance (£42,560). In addition, we offer 22 days annual leave + bank holidays as well as the option to buy additional days.       What you’ll do on a typical day:

      • Ensure a safe working environment and to operate in accordance with company Health & Safety policies this includes Road to Zero,
      • Ensure all GXO / DVSA compliance measures are prioritised and maintained, these include Taco master, Trailer Master, Tachograph analysis, infringement reporting and investigations
      • Ensure adequate accident investigations are carried out in a timely manner and recorded with appropriate support from the QHSE team and to take corrective action as appropriate with support from HR team
      • Report all accidents, near misses and/or dangerous occurrences on Fastworks within the agreed timelines. All accidents need to also be highlighted to the GXO management team and BT via the appropriate form

      What you need to succeed at GXO:

      • Good knowledge of Health & Safety principles
      • MHE counterbalance forklift license
      • Experience of working in a complex, fast moving environment in a similar management role
      • Demonstrable experience of Transport management or Warehouse Management
