      Basic Job Functions:

      The General Manager directs operations through a team of warehouse personnel. The position ensures increasing customer and employee satisfaction levels while improving warehouse efficiency.

      Additional Functions

      1. Provides leadership for teammate relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development

      2. Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships

      3. Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.

      4. Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery

      5. Ensures all teammates perform their tasks in a safe manner

      6. Balances work capacity across the warehouse

      7. Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies

      8. Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects

      9. Manages compliance with state and federal regulations

      10. Capable of performing all warehouse positions and being willing to step into different positions as needed

      11. Completes any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor

      Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Compensation Data

      Starting Base Salary Range: $90,000-$115,000

      Production Bonus

      Weekly Base Salary + Weekly Production Bonus Example: weekly Base Salary = $1,730.76 Weekly Production Bonus = 40%. Total Weekly Salary = $2,423.07

      Profit-Sharing

      10% of Nucor’s pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings. Eligible earnings include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required with a discipline in Management and or Business. Relevant and sufficient experience, knowledge, and training will be considered equivalent.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Five years of management experience
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage in a fast pace environment with cross-functional teams
      • General understanding of finance, cost, and accounting principles
      • Proven experience driving teammate engagement
      • Familiarity with engineering systems
      • Experience working in Engineering, Quality, or Materials Management
