      Location: The Salvation Army Peachcrest Red Shield Youth Center

      About this opportunity:

      Assists alongside program leaders in planning and leading center members and activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the priority outcomes of the program. May assist in special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary. Participate in the Salvation Army’s ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow’s leaders.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Promotes and stimulates program participation.
      • Assists with the registration of new members and participates in their center orientation process.
      • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
      • Implements and administers programs, services and activities for youth members in an effective manner.

      • Monitors and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.
      • Prepare periodic activity reports.
      • Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
      • May participate in special programs and/or events.
      • May be required to drive youth center vehicle.
      • Assists in the conservation of all Salvation Army resources.
      • Abides by and enforce all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
      • Be willing to assist in any way asked to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army.
      • May provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals in the absence of Program Coordinator.

      What we are looking for in you:

      • Valid State Driver’s License.
      • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
      • Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

      Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

      Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures. Ability to multi-task, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manners. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
