About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice in Brighton, MI. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient patient care within our specialized foot and ankle care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist podiatrists with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready.
• Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as wound care, dressing changes, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Coordinate with insurance providers and handle billing-related tasks as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• Previous experience in a podiatry or orthopedic practice is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
