EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience
• 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare setting or
  Completion of Medical Assistant, EMT or Paramedic Training Program
• Licenses and Certifications
• (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment Upon Hire

JOB DUTIES

• Prepares for clinic operations by ensuring exam and treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies and functioning equipment.
• Greets, escorts, and rooms patients, creating a welcoming and professional experience while supporting efficient patient flow.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, medical history updates, medication information, and other required patient information in the electronic health record.
• Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments by ensuring appropriate documentation, diagnostic results, and patient information are available for the care team.
• Assists medical practitioners, and nursing staff with examinations, procedures, treatments, and other patient care activities within scope of practice.
• Performs clinical procedures and screenings as directed and appropriate to departmental needs, including specimen collection and processing, according to established protocols.
• Provides patient written education and reinforces instructions as directed by the provider or nursing staff, documenting education provided in the electronic health record.
• Coordinates patient care activities, including referrals, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, and other clinical support functions as assigned.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record and verifies or witnesses required consent, authorization, and other patient forms.
• Maintains patient safety by identifying and reporting safety concerns, performing routine equipment checks, and following established infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Maintains adequate inventory of clinical supplies and communicates supply or equipment needs to appropriate personnel.
• Participates in departmental training, competency validation, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Assists with onboarding and training of new employees, serving as a preceptor and resource as assigned.
• Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Information
Salary is commensurate with education, skills, and relevant experience.
