Medical Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant II to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient healthcare environment. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a critical part in delivering quality patient care, supporting physicians and nurses, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
The ideal candidate has experience in direct patient care, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Clinical Support

• Discuss symptoms and gather patient health information
• Record patient information accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Administer injections and medications as permitted by certification and state regulations
• Perform diagnostic testing and screenings
• Collect specimens and perform blood draws/phlebotomy procedures
• Sterilize and maintain medical equipment
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care

Administrative Support

• Assist with patient scheduling and office workflow
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Support clinic operational and customer service activities
• Utilize Microsoft Outlook and other office systems to coordinate tasks and communications
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and patient privacy requirements

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in back-office direct patient care
• Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (RMA, CMA, or applicable state licensure)
• Current CPR certification
• Less than 2 years of professional leadership experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to successfully complete required Tuberculosis (TB) screening
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual communication skills
• Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Experience with HEDIS measures and quality initiatives
• Active certification through organizations such as:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Active ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification/license
