Medical Support Assistant (OA)

About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Washington.This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Prepares routine correspondence, progress reports, medical statements, and statistical reports.
• Perform receptionist and clerical functions in a medical clinic, including data entry, appointment scheduling, and coordination with specialty services.
• Enters, updates, and retrieves information from electronic health records and other automated systems.
• Maintains clinic appointment schedules and coordinates patient flow.
• Manages secure messaging, routes calls, relays messages, and escalates urgent issues.
• Verifies patient eligibility and provides information on clinic and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, tuberculosis etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations..
