Principal Architect

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers to design and implement cloud-based machine-learning system architectures
• Develop scalable, generic, highly flexible cloud-based solutions to empower the machine-learning team to deliver algorithms and models to production
• Strong hands-on contributions to system implementation
• Work with team members and project management, setting a strong technical direction for projects, making sure that they meet project requirements
• Regularly attending team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, and put forward solutions to any issues.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer, system architect, cloud engineer, or other similar experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following fields: computer science, data science, or another computational field
• History of leading technical teams to deliver scalable and flexible cloud-based systems
• Extensive experience with map-reduce and machine-learning frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• Some knowledge of machine learning algorithms and processes
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud technologies
• Extensive knowledge of system design patterns and architectural best practices
• Experience developing asynchronous processing algorithms and Cloud-based solutions
• Substantial knowledge of data storage, search, and ETL processes, SQL and NoSQL
• Strong ability to communicate concepts and analytical results with customers, management, and the technical team, highlighting actionable insights
• Must be a US Person for this role

Desired Skills:

• 20+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer, system architect, cloud engineer, or other similar experience.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning processes and scalability solutions
• Experience working with remote sensing data, ideally satellite imagery with an understanding of Geospatial software (GDAL, osgeo, etc.) and programming standards
