An Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Scheduler or Program Coordinator in Washington State typically manages staff shift rotations, department calendars, and operational logistics for pre-hospital or educational medical services. • Shift and Calendar Management: Maintain 24/7 or rotational staff schedules, coordinate field crew calendars, and track leave requests or overtime coverage.
• Administrative Coordination: Support EMS program chairs, directors, or fire chiefs with operational workflows, meetings, and record-keeping.
• Resource and Liaison Support: Coordinate staff, rooms, and equipment allocation for training labs, clinical shifts, or emergency response readiness.
• Compliance and Data Tracking: Monitor certification renewals, training records, and continuing education (OTEP) compliance under Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or emergency management is often preferred.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of administrative, scheduling, or supervisory experience, preferably within a hospital, fire service, or emergency healthcare environment.
• Knowledge & Skills: Proficiency with electronic scheduling systems/databases, strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, and familiarity with Washington State labor rules or healthcare terminology.
