  • Operate cloud-native services leveraging containers, microservices, distributed systems principles, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences.
  • Represent the team in release and semester planning forums, ensuring engineering perspectives are reflected in organization-level planning and commitment decisions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices.
  • Guide the team in troubleshooting complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements.
  • Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Contribute to the technical growth of the team through coaching and mentorship opportunities.
  • Track team objectives, delivery plans, risks, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Develop succession plans for critical roles and build a pipeline of future technical and people leaders.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage adoption of AI tools and practices that improve team productivity.

Job Requirements

  • 8-12 years of relevant industry experience.
  • 3+ years of people management or leadership experience.
  • Experience working with backend core engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of storage platforms such as SAN/NAS.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
  • Experience collaborating across Product Management, Engineering, and Support teams.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build relationships across technical communities.
  • Ability to contribute to architecture and system design and understand modern software development workflows.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and practical AI use cases.
