Description

Build your accounting career where the numbers connect directly to the operation. Radius Packaging is looking for a Staff Accountant who is curious, analytical, and ready to learn. You’ll work alongside our Controller and business leaders to understand everything from production costs and inventory to budgeting and profitability, gaining broad manufacturing finance experience that goes well beyond traditional general accounting.

Radius Packaging is an award-winning manufacturer where Finance has a front-row seat to the business. We combine a strong manufacturing foundation with a culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and developing great people. We’re proud to have been named Plastics News’ Plastics Processor of the Year and recognized as a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for two consecutive years.

Our culture is grounded in “The Radius Way”, the core values that guide how we work and grow together:

  • Champion Positive Change
  • Act with Integrity
  • Strive for Excellence
  • Emphasize Community
  • Work Together

About the Role

If you’re an accountant who wants to do more than close the books, this is an opportunity to build your manufacturing finance experience while becoming a true partner to the business.

Radius Packaging is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at our New Berlin, WI location. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role works closely with Finance, Production, Operations, and Commercial teams, giving you the opportunity to understand what drives manufacturing performance, turn financial data into meaningful insights, and help identify opportunities to improve cost, efficiency, and profitability.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs and turn the data into meaningful insights for management.
  • Support monthly and annual financial reporting, including COGS, inventory, and work-in-progress (WIP) analysis.
  • Perform actual-to-standard cost variance analysis and help identify opportunities to improve cost and profitability.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, and project cost tracking.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, capital projects, and fixed assets.
  • Reconcile inventory and cost-related general ledger accounts and support month-end close activities, including bank and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and strengthen inventory controls.
  • Prepare audit workpapers and documentation and support external auditors with manufacturing cost, inventory, and production-related information.
  • Partner across Production, Operations, Commercial, and Finance to explain financial results and improve cost visibility.
  • Help improve cost accounting systems, standards, processes, controls, and reporting tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce waste, standardize processes, and improve financial and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, GMP, food safety, and food quality requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment, or experience auditing manufacturing companies and their cost accounting practices.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting or financial systems that support GAAP reporting.
  • ERP experience preferred; IQMS or Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of your work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate accounting and budgeting concepts for non-financial team members.
  • A collaborative mindset and an interest in understanding how the operation works, not just the numbers behind it.

Why Radius?

At Radius, you won’t be limited to one narrow piece of accounting. You’ll gain exposure across operations, cost accounting, financial reporting, inventory, budgeting, and business analytics, while working alongside leaders who use financial information to make real business decisions.

We offer:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Vacation and company-paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Bonus potential
  • Life and disability insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Opportunities to broaden your manufacturing and financial expertise as Radius continues to grow
