HSE is seeking an experienced systems administrator with a passion for technology. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, an interest in IT operating systems, and a desire to support business continuity planning and testing initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance service excellence with organizational security and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues and implement long-term solutions
• Installing operating system software, patches and upgrades
• Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning and monitoring operating system software and servers
• Performing system backups and recovery
• Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues
• Lead or assist in IT infrastructure projects
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations and procedures
• Responsible for oversight of IT assets and maintain accurate inventory records in accordance with state regulations
• Administer system-wide configurations such as group policy and software deployment
• Work within a ticketing system, document resolutions, and contribute to the IT team’s internal knowledge base
• Participate and contribute to the business continuity planning to create and test processes
• Other projects as assigned by the Network Engineering Manager and Chief Information Officer

Technical Knowledge Preferred:

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
• Support Virtual Machines on popular hypervisors
• Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD, Intune
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall configuration
• MDM and endpoint security tool
• Disaster recovery planning/testing
• Server Virtualization and SANs

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (preferred) 3–5 years of experience in system administration, troubleshooting, and deployment; relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Security+, Azure Admin) are a plus
• High-level understanding of the Windows 365 platform
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and endpoint management
• Solid understanding and experience in IT security, compliance, and disaster recovery planning and testing
• Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to demonstrate a service approach to internal clients
• Desire and initiative to learn emerging technologies
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

This position may require after-hours support in emergency situations and updates.

Recruiting Information:

• FLSA Classification: Exempt
• Expected Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000
• Hours per week: 40
• Excellent benefits package
