Budget Analyst

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Performs a variety of budget and accounting functions in the formulation, execution, and review for various organizations within a multi-purpose project.

Duties

• Assist in the formulation of budgets to requests for funds.
• Monitor fund availability through detailed analysis of expenditures and reimbursable programs.
• Identify program tendencies and spending trends.
• Ensure obligations, expenses and requested allotments are within approved funding limits.
• Provide procedural and regulatory guidance on availability of or limitations of funds.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires to obtain the Department of Defense Fiscal Law training within 1 month of being appointed.
• This position requires to obtain and maintain Financial Management Cert Level II is required within 24 months of appointment.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
