      The County of San Diego's Department of Human Resources has an opening for an Account Clerk - Confidential. If you have recent experience in bookkeeping or accounting and are you looking to take your career to the next step, apply today!

      This position may have a teleworking and flexible schedule available after an initial training period. Interviews will take place on December 18th, 2023, and job offers will be the same day! The successful candidate can start as early as December 29, 2023.

      Future Salary Increases

      July 2024 - 6.63% increase to base pay (2.75% Across-the-Board + 3.88% Market Increase)

      Account Clerk-Confidential positions perform clerical accounting work, maintain confidential records and sensitive information, prepare check collections for deposit, assist with posting and paying bills or invoices, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing bill, mail and documents, set up and maintain suppliers/vendors automated files, process warrant cancellation on returned checks, scan invoices, run and print reports, provide accurate and complete information in an efficient and timely manner, and perform other related duties as assigned.

      IDEAL CANDIDATE

      The ideal candidate will have recent experience in bookkeeping and accounting, be able to perform accounts payable, be familiar with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, be able to multitask, and have a close attention to detail.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      One (1) year or more of work experience performing bookkeeping, fiscal, or statistical accounting assignments.

      Note: Two (2) years of post high school level accounting and business education courses, to include twelve (12) semester units of accounting from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency may substitute for the required experience.

      CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

      As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.


      EVALUATION

      Qualified applicants will be placed on a nine (9) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental application questionnaire.

If you are successful in the initial screening process, your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
