      Job Purpose

      As a Sales Account Manager, you will maintain strong customer relationships by satisfying customer requirements, quoting new business, and managing existing business. In addition, the Account Manager will collaborate with other Account Managers, Sr. Sales Managers and Vice Presidents of Light Vehicle Drive Systems in satisfying open tasks when needed. Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

      Job Duties and Responsibilities

      Primary Job Responsibilities:

      • Represent product lines to assigned customers.
      • Develop and participate in technical presentations to customers, as needed, utilizing all resources available to explain product changes and support the growth plans of the Light Vehicle Driveline division.
      • Direct ownership of prototype process and activities with the customer from RFQ to final product delivery.
      • Develop and participate in pricing and new business proposal presentations to Dana management in support of quotations and obtaining internal approvals.
      • Respond to customer requests for quotations on a timely basis – owns quoting activity/process.
      • Respond to customer change requests and technical cost reduction initiatives by gathering information, starting formal inquiries, reviewing cost estimates, and providing formal quotations.
      • Management of VAVE ideas, issues, and progress.
      • Support all areas of new and existing customer activities including launch and engineering change management.
      • Attend customer meetings (purchasing, engineering, platform teams, etc.) as required.
      • Interface both verbally and in written format with both external and internal customers.
      • Work with the customer engineers/purchasing to complete all product designs in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.
      • Resolve pricing, debits, and credit issues.
      • Accurate annual forecasting of customer requirements.

      Education and Qualifications

      Qualifications Desired:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Marketing; technical aptitude and/or engineering background is a plus.
      • Experience with Automotive Light Vehicle driveline manufacturing is a plus.
      • Original equipment manufacturer “Sales” experience preferred (5 years minimum); specific experience with Ford Motor Company is a plus.
      • Proven leadership skills with the motivation to get the team to obtain all the factual details needed during quote preparation.
      • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work with people in high pressure situations while managing multiple priorities and tasks.
      • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
      • Strong demonstrated project management, organizational and analytical skills.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact in a professional manner with internal/external customers and manufacturing & assembly facilities.
      • Ability to work productively across all functions and organizational levels.
      • Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, and be effective in a team environment.
      • Proficient in Microsoft software (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) plus other computer applications with the ability to quickly learn internet-based programs for quoting and other requirements.
      • Able to travel frequently to customers and to other Dana locations (minimal overnight domestic and infrequent international travel).
