      Job Summary:

      STC’s Account Manager is the prime contact for customers, and coordinates the technical support from engineering, commercial support from Customer Service, and additional coverage from sales channels (as needed).

      The Account Manager functions include, but are not limited to, managing customer accounts, customer relationship building, opportunity management, pricing strategy creation, negotiation, and order capture to grow sales and profitability.

      Essential Functions:

      • Customer and prospect development
      • Builds strong customer relationships, promote STC’s current and future capabilities to prospects and customers, and assures STC gets qualified to participate in quotations and product development opportunities.
      • Effectively offers customers or potential customers new perspectives and insights based on in-depth industry and customer knowledge.
      • Educates customers and/or potential customers about their own business challenges and potential solutions.
      • Consistently deliver valuable insight and demonstrated expertise
      • Develop sales account plans to support the overall Marketing and Sales plan
      • Visits OEMs, spec developers, government agencies, end users, tradeshows, and conferences to obtain customer specific information on pricing, commercial terms, and expectations
      • Execute Commercial/Sales budget objectives and strategies and maximize value to the customer.
      • Identify, evaluate, and submit recommendations for representatives as needed
      • Participates in tradeshows exhibited by STC, primarily as a relationship builder
      • Provide and model exemplary customer service necessary to develop long-term relationships with customers
      • Helps to drive pricing, order quantities, and reduce unprofitable products to improve margins and profitability for STC.
      • Quote Pipeline execution
      • Qualify and accelerate leads & inquiries into opportunities
      • Assure that customer expectations are clearly defined regarding performance, value added, schedule of deliverables, T&Cs, and payment schedules
      • Negotiate and accelerate the capture of opportunities
      • Lead contract review process to ensure alignment with customer and legal requirements
      • Progress opportunities from the sample qualification stage to production runs
      • Develop, track and manage plans for high growth and high potential customer opportunities
      • Record and maintain client contact data utilizing CRM and trip reports
      • Order Entry and Contract (Order) Management support
      • Supports the reconciliation of customer Purchase Orders, coordinates customer electronic drawing transfer to accelerate Work Order release, provides accurate order forecasting for production and Marketing and Sales, management needs, and assists in delivery, returns, and collections resolution.
      • Other related duties as required

      KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

      • BS in Business or Engineering / related field or equivalent job experience; MBA is a plus
      • 3 years of work experience in technical ceramic sales with manufacturing company
      • Proven ability to offer new perspectives and insights based on in-depth industry and customer knowledge
      • Proven ability to educate customers about challenges.
      • Proven success in developing customers, to profitably growth the business
      • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications
      • Ability to work independently as a remote employee
      • Exceptional interpersonal skills
      • Strong project management and time management skills
      • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
      • Able to build strong relationships with customers, employees, and management
      • Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem solving
      • Detail oriented, organized, a highly motivated leader of people, and champion of continuous improvements
      • Demonstrated proficient proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet
      • Expected travel is 25-50% monthly (5-15 days / month)

      Working Conditions:

      Perform work at both your home office, on airplanes, in hotels, and at customers’ offices. Office work is usually in a climate-controlled office environment. While on-site, time on any shop floor may be required, which can be noisy and dusty, as well as hot during the summer. Proper safety equipment is provided by STC where necessary.

      Physical Demands:

      Office work involves standing and walking for brief periods, but most work is from a seated position. Travel work involves driving, flying, and walking with luggage. There is potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials & computer screens. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods, travel and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work may include occasional lifting and carrying objects or pushing/pulling approximately 25 pounds. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. Repetitive motion injuries may occur. The company will provide adaptive devices as needed.
