What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage staff calendars, scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements
- Organize and coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes
- Serve as a liaison between the Executive Director and various stakeholders
- Assist in the development and implementation of organizational initiatives and programs
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and mail
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit or advocacy setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Familiarity with Deaf Culture and American Sign Language (ASL)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of basic accounting processes, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) or demonstrated knowledge of deafness and accessibility considerations
- Experience working with executive leadership and managing complex schedules
