Work closely with business and other stakeholders to really understand the business, lead application architecture vision and implement the technical solution.
Maintain and enhance the existing eTrading and algo platforms
Collaborate with the broader technology group to converge on best practices, adopt reusable frameworks and components and contribute to building further reusable assets.
Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies in the business
Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of junior technical development staff
In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with 7+ years’ experience in Java development
Required Technical experience: Java17 minimum, Multi-threading, Memory Management, Garbage Collector Tuning
Experience with a messaging framework (Tibco Rendezvous, Solace, ZeroMQ, Kafka, etc)
Knowledge/experience in Capital Markets
Understanding of build and deployment management
Knowledgeable in database technologies
Proficiency with HTML5 / Javascript / Gridgain
