      Job Overview
      Our client, a mental health practice, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented VirtualMedical Assistant to support front desk and administrative operations.

      The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare administration, strongcommunication skills, and the ability to work effectively with sensitive patient populations,including individuals in mental health and addiction care. This role heavily involves administrative tasks, patient coordination, insurance verification, and communication.

      Key Responsibilities
      Front Desk & Patient Communication
      • Answer inbound phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally
      • Manage SMS/text communication with patients
      • Respond to emails and maintain communication workflows
      • Confirm upcoming appointments and handle rescheduling

        Scheduling & Coordination
      • Schedule patient appointments accurately
      • Coordinate calendars and manage provider availabilityInsurance & Eligibility
      • Verify insurance eligibility using EOBs
      • Determine co-pays, deductibles, and coverage details
      • Work within RCM tools to check benefits

        Clinical & Administrative Support
      • Administer pre-appointment assessments (e.g., PHQ-9)
      • Ensure patient forms are completed prior to visits
      • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

      General Administrative Tasks
      • Manage inboxes and communication channels
      • Support overall front-office workflows

        Required Experience & Skills
      • Prior experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or in healthcare administration
      • Strong understanding of:

      o Insurance verification

      o EOB interpretation (co-pays, deductibles)
      • Experience handling high-volume patient communication (calls, texts, emails)
      • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
      • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
      • Ability to handle sensitive patient interactions with professionalism and empathy

        Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience in mental health or behavioral health environments (highly preferred)
      • Familiarity with the following tools:

      o Valant EMR
      o Weave (phone/text platform)o Valentree
      o CareCloud
