      The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).

      JOB SUMMARY:

      Provides responsible direction to staff and activities related to the operation of the clinic. Responsible for the day-to-day technical and management functions of the clinic.

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • Develops, plans, and schedules clinic work flow.
      • Implements and monitors approved policies and procedures, communicates changes to necessary staff.
      • Reviews, monitors, and revises procedures as appropriate.
      • Coordinates and integrates inter/intra department systems.
      • Tracks the flow of medical records and patient information through the clinic.
      • Maintains physical resources for efficient, cost effective and safe environment.
      • Coordinates maintenance and repairs of clinic area, equipment, and instruments.
      • Supervises and directs clerical personnel.
      • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
      • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for the department.
      • Performs related duties as required.

      EQUIPMENT :

      Standard office equipment.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.

      REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

      • Associate's degree or equivalent in related field.
      • Three (3) years experience in healthcare or management.

      Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
