- Lead and supervise the testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and BESS power distribution equipment.
- Oversee the execution of NETA-based testing-such as Megger (insulation resistance), VOC Testing, VLF, and TTR-while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all performance validation.
- Manage the startup, energization, and complex troubleshooting of AC and DC components, providing technical guidance to field technicians on solar and BESS sites.
- Review and interpret complex electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams to verify installation quality and resolve critical field engineering issues.
- Coordinate directly with construction leads, SCADA teams, and utility partners to ensure seamless system integration and communication protocols.
- Review and finalize commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages to ensure they meet project milestones and industry standards.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes (NEC/NFPA 70E), and site-specific safety requirements across the commissioning team.
- Manage and audit energy isolation procedures (LOTO) to ensure a zero-incident environment during the transition from construction to operations.
- Assist the Commissioning Director in resource planning, scheduling, and progress reporting for multiple project sites.
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior technical role commissioning electrical systems within solar, BESS, or utility/industrial sectors.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical testing methods, specialized equipment, and NETA standards.
- Strong ability to interpret control logic, advanced technical drawings, and protective relay settings.
- Demonstrated experience in field execution management including troubleshooting, team coordination, and project reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage subcontractor relationships and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across multiple states.

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss Energy is seeking a dedicated Commissioning Assistant Manager to lead and oversee the startup and delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This leadership role is responsible for supervising commissioning teams, managing onsite technical activities, and ensuring that all electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards prior to energization. The Commissioning Assistant Manager serves as a critical bridge between field execution and senior management to drive project completion.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
This position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
