Role Summary:

• The role is to support the engineering development of ADAS/AD feature for series production. The focus is development of US specific feature and validation of the same. The responsibility starts with creating scenarios for each feature and generating requirement specification for software development
• The role is responsible for performing application, verification and validation of ADAS features. This role also requires to drive instrumented Audi vehicle on the public road, identify problematic scenarios and perform root cause analysis of all the corner cases where there are issues ADAS features
• This position also needs to coordinate with cross functional team of ADAS/AD team who are located in Germany

Role Responsibilities:

Main responsibility

Market specific requirement creation for ADAS/AD L2 feature (30%)

• Scenario creation for specific feature for US specific infrastructure
• Requirement specification creation and modelling the same in requirement tool
• Test catalogue creation for feature verification
• Creation of validation strategy to detect corner cases

Application, Verification and Validation – in vehicle testing (30%)

• Developing application process, test plan for verification and validation of ADAS features
• Instrumenting test vehicle with measurement devices to capture data specific to test cases and scenarios. These include additional sensors (like camera, Lidar etc.) for ground-truth data collection along with Audi-specific measurement devices
• Testing with pre-defined test cases on road (real life scenarios) and also identify, test all possible corner case scenarios to makes sure that features are performing as intended

Documentation and Project Management (20%)

• All the test cases, result and bug-fixing needs to be managed in internal tracking system as this will be the input for sign-off of the software release in production
• Also many of the platform feature owners are located in Germany so it needs strong coordination/cooperation with them
• This position is also responsible for overall management of the software release from planning, tracking and recommendation for sign-off for specific ADAS/AD features

Additional responsibilities

Algorithm, software development, validation plan for AD L3/4 platform for next generation platform (20%)

Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

• 7+years of experience with ADAS/AD system engineering and verification & validation

Education – Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (computer science or comparable)

Education – Desired:

• Master’s or PhD in in Engineering (computer science or comparable)

• Expertise in embedded SW and its implementation in ADAS/AD domain
• Should be familiar with automotive communication standards (CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet) and their measurement systems
• Strong measurement data analysis skill
• Knowledge on industry development processes like SPICE and Scrum
• Knowledge of functional safety and SOTIF

Specialized Skills – Desired:

• Knowledge of ADAS/AD features
• Experience with working in OEM environment
• Experience with working in cross-functional environment
• Knowledge of Simulation environment for ADAS/AD feature testing
• Knowledge of Vehicle architecture
• Basic German language skills (written and spoken)

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.

In the city of Santa Clara, CA, the salary range $105,900.00 - $161,700.00.
