- Directly supervise employees in the Human Resources department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training HR team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Continually review and make recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the wage and salary program
- Coordinates recruitment efforts with hiring managers, and assists with the final decision process
- Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
- Ensures that employee separation notices and related documentation are completed.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate.

- Four-year degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is required Or an equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of related Human Resources experienced required
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess proven Human Relations skills
- Ability to manage and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented
- Capable of learning new skills as needed
- SHRM Certified Senior Professional (SPHR) or Professional (PHR) preferred.
- Reports directly to the President of JSI
- Secondary responsibility to LSI Senior Vice President – Human Resources
- Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally, sitting most of the time, and only brief periods of standing and walking.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
