      Job Description

      Join a dynamic and growing team within the Transportation Operations sector. This role is perfect for highly skilled and motivated Logistics Specialists who are interested in managing daily freight movements in and out of North American fulfillment centers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team in a high-growth area.

      Responsibilities

      • Maintain continual and tactical communication and account management with external customers including carriers and vendors/suppliers.
      • Pull data from numerous databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and other data management systems to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
      • Review data and reports related to appointment and arrival times and make business decisions/process improvements based on the reported data.
      • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to create narratives outlining weekly findings and variances to goals. Present these findings in review forums.
      • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
      • Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects to drive efficiency in transportation operations.
      • Systematically escalate problems or variance in information and data to the relevant owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions to ensure delivery.
      • Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
      • Scope out business and functional requirements for the tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools used.
      • Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make data-driven decisions.

      Essential Skills

      • Bachelor's degree
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
      • Experience in inventory, freight, dispatch, and email communication
      • Knowledge of third-party logistics, routing, and logistic clerk responsibilities
      • Experience in transportation, operations, and Six Sigma methodologies
      • Strong customer service skills
      • Logistics support, analysis, and transportation management
      • Vendor management
      • Proficiency in SQL and data management
      • Experience in supply chain and data analysis
      • Operational support, purchasing, and procurement experience

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Preferred experience in logistics or transportation
      • Intermediate level experience with Excel
      • Bachelor's degree is a plus
      • Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments
      • Data management and quality control experience
      • Experience in pulling and analyzing large data sets
      • Demonstrated experience using data for root cause elimination and process improvement
      • Self-starter with a love for data and trend analysis

      Work Environment

      This position is 100% on-site with standard Monday to Friday hours. Overtime may be required, up to 10 hours a week. Daily activities include morning team meetings, tracking overnight loads, simple tracking and tracing, customer communication and email, scheduling shipments, and handling escalations. Interaction with team members varies but includes regular syncs, weekly one-on-ones with direct reports, daily chime groups for day-to-day escalations, and possible skip-level syncs.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
