What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as Washington's technical authority on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and other fluorinated gases, providing expert guidance on regulations and compliance expectations
- Lead the development of technical policies, rule updates, and guidance documents to support the implementation of HFC regulations
- Advise program leadership on complex regulatory issues and recommend improvements for clarity and effectiveness
- Deliver technical presentations and represent the agency at public meetings and national organizations
- Train compliance specialists and inspectors on the implementation of refrigerant management requirements and create training materials
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ten years of experience in environmental-based work or related duties, including regulatory compliance and scientific analysis
- Proven experience in interpreting and implementing environmental regulations and providing compliance assistance
- Strong communication skills to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects
- Valid driver's license required
