      Brief Position Overview:

      Help Desk Specialist (HDS) provides technical support to all Public Health staff members that are experiencing hardware, software and telecom issues. (HDS) responds to service requests, troubleshoots problems, and implements routine hardware maintenance.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Respond to, manage, and troubleshoot service requests in a timely manner to meet Key Performance metrics

      • Monitors and reports conditions of deployed devices/equipment and ensures maintenance and functionality is kept up to date.

      • Responsible for deployment of technology devices, including device preparation with appropriate software and applications, quality assurance and control, and assigning to the appropriate resources.

      • Operational and Technology field support, including off-site locations, remote facilities, and events

      • Other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event

      Education:

      • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent

      Experience:

      • Two (2) years of experience in PC Hardware/Software Technical Support

      • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

      • Proficient analytical and problem solving skills
      • Provide technical advice, guidance and formal training for hardware and software
      • Works with and liaisons other technical teams including networking, and application teams, to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
      • Strong ability to manage a team, including providing clear direction, prioritization of work, and communication among the team and stakeholders.

      Education:
      • Bachelors degree in a related field.

      Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:

      • Full-Time, Regular Position | 40 hours/Week

      • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5 pm. Others days and hours as necessary


      Work Environment:

      • Generally, this job operates in a professional office environment with some field/site work as needed.

      • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
      • Occasional site visits to offsite operations may be required.


      Physical Demands:

      • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time
