      Job Title: Help Desk Technician Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

      Reports to:

      Pay Grade: T02E

      Dept. /School:

      Days: 227

      Supervises:

      Primary Purpose: Help Desk Technicians provide phone support for computer and I.T. related issues for all ECISD personnel.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification:

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Degrees and certifications preferred, not required

      Special Knowledge Skills:

      • Logical troubleshooting skills
      • Ability to identify and correctly troubleshoot and/or escalate issues
      • Ability to be self-sufficient and self-taught
      • Ability to work well in a team environment
      • Ability to work well in a face paced environment
      • Customer service skills and ability to answer phones in a professional and friendly manner
      • Knowledge of computer systems, software, and networks including, but no limited to Microsoft operating systems, software, and networks
      • Knowledge of software types, software installation and troubleshooting
      • Knowledge of computer peripherals, including printer installation and troubleshooting
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Ability to type 40+ words per minute

      Experience:

      • 2 years of experience in computer support or related field
      • Management or Supervisory experience preferred, not required

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      • Assigning tasks and following up on assignments for computer technicians
      • Training and assistance with support issues for computer technicians

      Documentation:

      • Work completed, knowledge base, training materials, etc.
      • Building/maintaining team atmosphere and collaboration

      Customer service and support:

      • Installing and troubleshooting computer software and peripherals

      Imaging / OS deployment:

      • Network troubleshooting and support

      Verbal and written communication:

      • Identify and provide solutions and/or escalate issues as required based on staff input
      • Identify emergency resolution requests and escalate to the proper I.T. personnel
      • Research persistent problems and communicate resolutions to ECISD personnel, including I.T. staff as necessary
      • Any and all other duties as assigned

      Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Ability to lift, carry, and/or move 40 lbs. Must have reliable transportation.
