      We are now recruiting an experienced HR Business Partner for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to support the continued development of our high-performing HR team with a focus on partnering our Engineering Design Practice. The role will be based from our York or Leeds offices with the flexibility of hybrid working and will suit an individual who is a passionate HR professional with natural stakeholder relationship management skills that enjoys a fast-paced environment.

      The HR Business Partner is the trusted adviser to their assigned business area with a core focus on providing strategic and tactical HR support across the full range of the employee and HR cycle. As an experienced HR generalist, you will partner your business stakeholders to identify the people priorities, drive the values and provide practical and pragmatic HR solutions based on best practice and creative thinking.

      You will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution and delivery of the HR strategy and People Plan, helping drive functional excellence and process improvement.       Main Duties:

      • Build organisational and people capability by driving and delivering the HR strategy for their business area, in collaboration with the HR Centres of Excellence and operational support teams
      • Work closely with the business area to implement its business strategy from a people perspective, understanding its people challenges and objectives and developing appropriate strategies and solutions to address these
      • Develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of the business
      • Increase management capability by providing timely feedback and effective coaching on people related matters
      • Collaborate with the wider HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver successful business results
      • Support talent management and succession planning activity to identify future talent and leverage organisational capability.
      • Drive value in employee engagement through interpretation of people survey results and effective action planning
      • Contribute to the development of people practices and initiatives, providing guidance and technical expertise
      • Work closely with the HR Analyst to report on data and trend analysis and collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to agree and implement appropriate and targeted action plans
      • Provide technical support and guidance on any high-risk employee relations cases, working closely with the HR Adviser and our external legal counsel, where necessary, to mitigate any risks of reputational damage and cost
      • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practice and continue to build internal and external networks

      Experience Required:

      • CIPD qualified (or equivalent qualification) and ongoing professional development
      • Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
      • Previous experience of operating as a HR generalist in a commercial HR function
      • Ability to build productive and collaborative relationships at all levels and positively challenge and influence where appropriate
      • Proven experience of managing and supporting tactical, operational and business change initiatives
      • Strong business knowledge and commercial acumen
      • Experience of Organisation Design and implementation
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Results and delivery focussed
      • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
      • Knowledge of Engineering/consultancy/rail - desirable
