What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct classification and organization studies for new and existing positions
- Develop, revise, and maintain classification specifications
- Coordinate and conduct salary studies
- Prepare recommendations for the establishment of new classes and reclassification of existing positions
- Review and screen employment applications and monitor employment certifications
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A master's degree in human resources management, public or business administration, or a related field
- One year of professional HR experience conducting job analyses or position classification studies
- Ability to apply and explain state and federal employment-related laws, guidelines, and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with evaluating proposed and current state and federal legislation
- Previous work direction experience
- Familiarity with Personnel Commission rules and procedures
