      Heavy front desk - focus on high levels of customer service and teamwork
      POSITION SUMMARY:
      Provides advanced administrative/technical support and acts as a limited individual contributor for various human resource functions.

      POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
      1. Provides consultation and technical support to clients and/or departmental staff members in assigned area of human resources.
      2. Researches, compiles, and analyzes data and prepares various reports. Makes recommendations to supervisor on Human Resources issues.
      3. Processes forms and advises employees and applicants on policies and procedures.
      4. Provides support to hiring managers, candidates, organizational staff, and HR colleagues and may take on ownership of aspects of processes in one or more of the following areas: HR information systems (applicant tracking system, HRMS); candidate recruitment/screening; employment processing; work visa processing; compensation administration; training administration; employee relations; and/or equal opportunity.
      5. Researches and answers routine to complex questions or issues in compliance with UT-Houston's policies. Provides consultation and interpretation of policies and procedures.
      6. Participates in the development and documentation of procedures. Participates in special projects.
      7. Serves as a resource and may provide guidance to other Human Resources Assistants.
      8. Performs other duties as assigned.

      CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
      No certification required.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION:
      High School diploma or its equivalent.

      MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
      Three years office or administrative experience required.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
      Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
