- Lead the data team of the lab, supervise junior data analysts.
- Conducts research of significant scientific value in the basic, translational, or behavioral science area(s) relevant to his/her practice specialty via data analysis and management.
- Generates reports from clinical data systems and links multiple data sets to create large databases of clinical and research data.
- Collaborates with internal and external researchers and institutions to facilitate collaborative research.
- Assists with procurement of additional funding through preparing data analysis of past and current projects to demonstrate feasibility and prior performance.
- Provides analysis guidance to principal investigator and collaborators.
- Assists in composition of publications for peer reviewed, scientific journals.
- Provides data management- including oversight of databases, facilitation of data integration from multiple sources, ensuring data validity, and guaranteeing data are stored safely and in compliance with institutional and other relevant regulations.
- Leverages Cloud storage and computing platforms to manage, analyze, and share data.
- Master's Degree Required
- Master's Degree in data science Preferred
- At least five (5) years working in data management, analysis, and application. Required
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques Preferred
- Web programming knowledge Preferred
- Fluency with multiple programming languages, e.g. Python, JavaScript, jQuery, SAPUI5, Java, C++, PHP, SQL, R, etc. Preferred
- Experience using source control management tools/software Preferred
- At least seven (7) years working in data management, analysis, and application. Preferred
- At least two (2) years working specifically with research datasets Preferred
- Knowledge of analytic and statistical methods to evaluate research findings and outcomes across varied data sets and applications.
- Proficient in a statistical programming language such as SPSS, SAS or Stata.
- Extensive experience with large datasets, combining data from a multitude of sources and using the dataset to measure outcomes.
- Able to convey complex or technical information in a manner that others can easily understand.
- Able to manage multiple projects, work independently, and implement problem-solving skills
- Ethical approach to work and to confidentiality/security of data and datasets
- Attentive to detail and data accuracy; meticulous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, exercising discretion and judgment.
- Must be adaptable to do work which is varied and requires an intellectual and professional approach.
- Strong ethical conduct and ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive information.
- Interpersonal skills to work with principal investigators, research collaborators, and junior staff.

A Brief Overview
Responsible for leading the data analyses at the lab, including managing junior data analysts and/or research coordinators. This person will oversee all aspects of data processing including data mining, data manipulation, data integration from multiple sources and analyzing data from multiple sources to support scientific objectives. Analyses include statistical modeling working with faculty statisticians and machine learning modeling working with faculty from more computational background. This person works with the mentorship of an established principal investigator to conduct research and independent analyses with minimal guidance (in addition to the role of supervising the junior data analysts at the lab). This position plays a key role in supporting the principal investigator via data management and analyses that further scientific aims by contributing to publications and grant submissions. Provides data management to PI, including oversight of databases, data integration across multiple sources, data privacy, etc. Collaborates and interacts with other researchers within the institution and at other institutions, including ensuring data are shared in accordance with all relevant regulations. Serves as resource person for colleagues and as a mentor for less experienced research personnel.

SALARY RANGE:
$83,700.00 - $106,700.00 Annually
Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
