What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Room patients, manage patient flow, and obtain necessary medical information
- Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing
- Facilitate communication regarding lab/imaging results and notify providers of abnormalities
- Perform patient care tasks as delegated by providers or RNs, including injections and assisting with procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and report any issues to the supervisor
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be 18 years of age with relevant education and/or experience
- Non-certified applicants must have graduated from an accredited school with a clinical externship if they have less than six months of Medical Assistant experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or completion of Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants
