      About the role


      Join the Financial Institutions Team in the National Key Account Manager position.

      This role will serve as the primary liaison between CMHC and national lenders, overseeing all insurance-related initiatives and ensuring a consistent client-centric approach in a highly competitive sales environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans aligned with corporate priorities, using client insights, market intelligence, and data-driven strategies to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty, drive sustainable growth, and create long-term business value.


      You will cultivate and manage relationships with executive-level clients to gain insight into broader lender priorities and strategic objectives. These high-level partnerships will inform CMHC’s strategic direction. In parallel, you will work closely with operational contacts to implement initiatives, meet operational objectives, and facilitate knowledge transfer between lenders and CMHC. Through a deep understanding of key accounts, you will identify risks and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

      What you’ll do:

      • Develop and execute national key account strategic plans, including tailored service offerings and terms of engagement, to achieve CMHC’s objectives and key performance indicators.
      • Foster and manage executive-level relationships with national lenders, acting as a strategic partner to drive collaboration, loyalty, and long-term value.
      • Utilize effective communication across all levels of client engagement to surface emerging priorities, uncover industry intelligence, and proactively identify potential risks and opportunities.
      • Provide recommendations to senior management to enhance competitive positioning, processes, performance, client needs and strategic direction.
      • Lead relationship management and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with client needs and corporate goals through strategic planning, business reviews, and ongoing engagement.
      • Leverage data analytics, market intelligence, and competitive insights gathered through client engagement to assess performance, identify trends and risks, and provide actionable recommendations to clients and senior leadership.
      • Champion a client-centric and sales-enablement mindset, using feedback to continuously improve service delivery, product offerings, and the overall client experience.
        Manage and resolve client inquiries and issues, drawing on deep knowledge of CMHC services and internal collaboration, while also monitoring and optimizing budget allocations and national expenditures.
      • Coach and guide national and regional teams, supporting the implementation of strategic plans and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence.
        Influence internal and external stakeholders, actively participating in strategic meetings and providing recommendations to senior management to mitigate risks and enhance CMHC’s competitive positioning.

      What you should have:

      • Undergraduate degree in sales and marketing, commerce, business administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
      • Minimum of ten years of experience in business development, relationship management, or sales leadership, including proven leadership experience.
      • Significant experience in client relationship management with the ability to build and maintain effective senior-level relationships.
      • Comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage industry, mortgage loan insurance and financial markets.
      • Strong strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
      • Superior communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to persuade others to achieve a desired outcome.
      • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to provide coaching and advisory services to key account managers.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead concurrent projects.
      • Experience in the promotion of financial products and services.
      • Note: Moderate amount of travel is required.

      It would be great if you also had:

      • Bilingualism (English and French).
      • Formal training and/or relevant experience in risk management, project management, mortgage lending experience.
