      Position Overview:

      Join us on an exciting journey to build something great. As our next Tax Partner, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the future of our corporate tax planning and advisory practice within the Southern Ontario Team, with a special focus on the Windsor/Essex Region. This role offers an opportunity to provide strategic guidance to private companies, helping them navigate complex tax matters to achieve their business goals.

      You will be entrusted with the responsibility of driving our growth objectives forward, making a meaningful impact on the success of both our clients and team.

      Strategic Impact: As a Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Domestic Tax Practice, with a focus on the growth and success of Privately Held Business Groups.

      Client Service Experience: Join our high-performing practice in a key leadership role, where your expertise will be instrumental in delivering a personalized approach to clients’ businesses. You will provide practical advice that is unique to their business, while helping organizations navigate the complexities of their Corporate Canadian Tax requirements, combined with compliance, personal tax planning compilations, advisory and services.

      As a Partner at Doane Grant Thornton, you will have an opportunity to:

      • Play a key leadership role in growing, managing, and developing the Domestic Tax practice in Windsor Ontario that complements, and is supported by, the firmwide strategy.

      • Mentor, coach, and develop the next generation of leaders.
      • Champion the growth, management, and development of our Private Company Practice within the Windsor Business Unit, as an integral part of the broader Southern Ontario Tax Team
      • Collaborate with Doane GT Canada Tax Partners; and other Partners across various service lines, sub-service lines, sectors, and geographic regions to provide a menu of options that optimize the entirety of a client’s business value.
      • Work closely with a team of professionals providing a wide range of business advisory services across Southern Ontario to guide clients through the ever-evolving tax landscape.

      Key Requirements:

      Education

      • Completion of Bachelor and/or Master's Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.
      • Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation and completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program.

      Experience and Attributes

      • 10+ years’ experience in public accounting or related industry
      • Significant tax planning and compliance experience including an in-depth understanding of Canadian Corporate taxation matters
      • Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on client relationships and proactively anticipating market needs
      • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the tax team
      • Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion
      • Commitment to quality, excellence and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you lead
      • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision-makers
      • Desire to learn and grow, and be an integral part of a team that puts “we before me”, where flexibility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back
