What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work activities of Permit Services staff
- Conduct permit reviews and provide customer service at the Permit Use counter, online, and over the phone
- Lead programmatic efforts related to the analysis and maintenance of departmental policies regarding permit processing
- Ensure thorough quality assurance and quality control measures are followed during the permitting process
- Supervise functions related to permit cancellations, refunds, and accounting resolutions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of four (4) years of Civil Engineering experience
- An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two (2) years of college-level coursework in engineering and construction technology
- Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility
- Familiarity with technology including Microsoft products and electronic plan review
- Team-based leadership and supervisory skills

- Field experience related to utility and/or construction
- Understanding of construction means and methods
- Ability to understand and interpret codes and policies
- Positive and flexible leadership style
- Experience working in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base
