What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a qualified physical therapist and according to the physician's plan of care
- Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance
- Direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, and prosthetic training
- Observe and report patients' reactions to treatment and any changes in their condition
- Maintain necessary clinical records and participate in team meetings and in-service education programs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an associate's degree in science or applied science
- Approved as a physical therapist assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California
- Good verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Current CPR certification
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in home health care or a related field
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and practices
- Additional certifications related to physical therapy or patient care
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
