      Summary:

      The Public Health Analyst IV serves as a senior subject matter expert providing advanced technical assistance, surveillance support, and analytical expertise for healthcare-associated infection (HAI) reporting within the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

      Responsibilities

      Essential Job Functions:
      • Provide level 2 help desk support (Infection Preventionists / Epidemiologists) to address NHSN protocol issues.
      • Provide subject matter consultation and technical assistance regarding surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAI)
      • Provide subject matter expertise in response to NHSN users inquiries related to the application of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) HAI definitions and criteria and provide user support regarding procedures for correctly reporting HAIs.
      • Prepare and present educational trainings about NHSN to professional organizations and governmental bodies at national, state and local levels.
      • Identify and create necessary NHSN module/manual updates resulting from technological advancements, infection/disease trends, changing or broadening IP/nursing responsibilities or yearly updates of system components.
      • Using Lectora toolset, develop NHSN training materials to be hosted on the NHSN website.
      • Work with the DHQP Communications team to conduct 508 Compliance testing.
      • Provide subject matter expertise and technical assistance for users reporting data into the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
      • Review data entered into NHSN and provide feedback and support to ensure data quality.
      • Assist in the development and maintenance of NSHN by submitting system change requests,
      • Maintain files in accordance with records management policies and procedures.
      • Review incoming and outgoing correspondence and distribute to the appropriate person.
      • Schedule conference calls, reserve meeting space and provide logistical support for project meetings.
      • Conduct preliminary reviews and systematic literature reviews, including but not limited to developing search strategies to be used in the relevant databases; searching the relevant databases and retrieving the relevant literature; and maintaining reference libraries and bibliographies for each project.
      • Review evidence extractions and methods for scientific accuracy.
      • Develop Power Point presentations, reports, and tables for project related activities, as needed, and assist with formatting references for scientific and other technical publications.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based public health environment.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Minimum 5+ or more years of progressively responsible experience in public health surveillance, infection prevention, or epidemiology.
      • Demonstrated experience working with the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) or comparable public health surveillance systems.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Bachelors degree in a related field.


      Pay and Benefits

      The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.
