What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Independently evaluate student needs and advise on disability management and accommodations
- Develop creative accessibility solutions in collaboration with faculty, staff, and community organizations
- Serve as a liaison between multiple disability services offices to ensure coordinated support for students
- Utilize learning outcome assessments to improve program offerings
- Maintain professional boundaries while addressing student concerns and university issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience
- General knowledge of disability-related laws and services provision (e.g., ADA, Section 504)
- Demonstrated ability to create viable alternative solutions to program-wide problems
- Strong skills in maintaining effective relationships with students with varied disabilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a directly related field may substitute for one year of experience
- Experience in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution
