Job Description

- Provide management support to deliver projects within the established budget and timeline.
- Apply educational background and engineering experience to the formulation, design and development of new products and processes.
- Develop complete project proposals for the new products or processes, which assess the market need, review the historical information, outline the technical details, estimate the total project costs, and justify the expenses according to the company’s project payback guidelines.
- Understand and implement Stage Gate process.
- Organize laboratory and plant trials to evaluate new ideas, and evaluate the results based on scientific, engineering and statistical principles.
- Assist Sales and Marketing on their evaluation of potential customers’ products and processes and make recommendations for new or existing products.
- Evaluate competitive products and use the information to improve our existing products and processes.
- Assist Process Innovation team on applying statistically designed experiments to new products development and manufacturing process improvement.
- Participate with personnel from R&D and other departments to carryout projects, which require cross-functional coordination.
- Successfully complete major projects in a timely manner, within budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Proven ability to make significant technical and scientific advances using internal and/or external resources.
- Proficiency is statistical data analysis, preparing and providing presentations on results, ability to present projects for larger audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Research and Development Engineer will take a leading role in the development of new products and processes, which meet the company’s strategic market and manufacturing objectives. This position will participate in program and project development, disseminate project information and serve as an active participant in project-related work groups and committees.
