What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to patients' inquiries and resolve issues from patients, family members, and insurance companies
- Analyze and work on A/R reports and Explanations of Benefits daily
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claims payment or non-payment
- Update and maintain patient demographic and profile information accurately
- File claims to various insurance companies and manage payment postings
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a medical practice, customer service, or revenue cycle department
- Knowledge of medical insurance, managed care plans, CPT, ICD9, and ICD10 codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to read and understand Explanations of Benefits from all insurance companies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPC certification preferred for designated trainer positions and those involved in coding directly from the chart
