      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Oversee safety programs including injury and illness prevention, vehicle investigations, and safety training
      - Develop and implement best industry safety practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
      - Conduct evaluations of current workplace safety programs and recommend improvements
      - Coordinate environmental, health, and safety efforts with other city departments
      - Work independently and in groups on assigned programs, training, and projects

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Two years of experience in accident prevention and loss control programs, including one year in safety and occupational health
      - Bachelor's degree in risk management, safety management, or a related field
      - Willingness to work various days and hours
      - Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for potential use of personal or City vehicles
      - Ability to pass a criminal background check applicable to the position

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - More than three years of experience in workplace safety, health, and environmental programs
      - Experience with OSHA compliance and incident root cause analysis
      - Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
      - Experience in safety training curriculum development and facilitation
      - OSHA Instructor certification (500 and/or 501 series)
