What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Generate qualified pipeline across a named set of Federal agencies through targeted outbound prospecting
- Execute account-based strategies tailored to Federal government procurement cycles
- Collaborate closely with Federal Account Executives on agency strategy and territory planning
- Research and map complex government organizations to understand agency missions and compliance requirements
- Lead initial conversations with senior government leaders to uncover mission challenges and security mandates
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2 years in a Sales Development Representative (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), or inside sales role
- Experience in Federal/Public Sector prospecting, including Civilian, DoD, or Intelligence Community
- Proven success in generating pipeline through outbound efforts in the Federal space
- Ability to navigate complex government hierarchies and procurement timelines
- Familiarity with Federal mandates related to cybersecurity, including Zero Trust architecture and FedRAMP
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Active security clearance is a significant plus but not always required
- Experience working with Federal Account Executives and understanding the role of System Integrators (GSIs)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior government officials and military leadership
- Resilient mindset with experience in navigating lengthy government sales cycles
- Consultative approach to sales that emphasizes mission support over hard selling
