What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and nurture a team of sales tax return filers, promoting teamwork within the department
- Ensure the team meets its goals and contributes to the overall department objectives
- Manage personal production while overseeing assigned clients throughout the sales tax returns filing process
- Handle data retrieval, funds requests, processing and filing of sales tax returns, payment processing, notice clearing, and account reconciliation
- Accurately file a minimum of 350 sales tax returns per month
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two years of recent experience filing at least 100 sales tax returns per month
- Five years of experience in sales tax return preparation, filing, and payment
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ideally in third-party sales tax return preparation for multiple clients
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in managing teams or leading projects within the tax services field
- Familiarity with multi-state tax regulations and compliance
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production goals in a sales tax environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster team collaboration
- Relevant certifications in tax preparation or accounting
