- Safety Advocacy: Taking ownership for conditions that affect others’ safety; identifying conditions that might cause hazards and taking action to remove those hazards.
- Supports staff and patrons by greeting and assisting building visitors, answering questions from the public.
- Registers participants in programs and processing facility rentals in electronic computer system.
- Works independently at patron events by monitoring events and facilities to ensure guest safety.
- Enforces City policies and procedures.
- Assists with event set up and clean up.
- Assists patrons with technology and facility equipment and provides instruction on proper use.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Principles of basic math and statistics;
- Effective customer service techniques;
- Computer applications related to the work;
- Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.
- Prepare clear, concise and complete written materials, such as educational and informational materials, reports and correspondence;
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Represent the City with the general public;
- Respond to customer questions or problems;
- Provide courteous and positive customer service;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties;
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy;
- Make sound independent decisions within procedural guidelines.
Working in recreation, sports, or customer service environment;
Working with the public of all ages.
- Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C driver’s license is required;
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

We’re hiring a Senior Center & Events Attendant (Part-Time) to support rentals, recreation programs, and events at our community facilities - including the Napa Senior Center, Las Flores Community Center, and Pelusi Building at Kennedy Park. From lively community events to meaningful programs for seniors, you’ll help create welcoming spaces where people connect, celebrate, and thrive.
If you’re dependable, people-focused, and love variety in your work, come join our team!This is a Part-Time Extra Help position that works approximately 5-20 hours per week, depending on the needs of the division. We are looking for individuals with flexible schedules who are able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays . This position has limited availability for daytime shifts during the week.
Qualified applicants will have a record of demonstrating the following competencies:
Part-Time Extra Help positions are not to exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Temporary and part-time employees are at-will and not covered by the Civil Service System.
